Office fundraising for charity with RI Consignment couldn’t be easier. Your employees want to show their philanthropic side by helping worthwhile causes, but not everyone has the financial means to donate large dollars. What your employees do have is a lot of unwanted STUFF! Don’t dump those unwanted items in a charity bin or worse, throw them away – donate them to benefit your favorite charity.
The process is fairly simple and straightforward. You ask your employees and their families to donate unwanted gently used and new items to support your favorite charity. You collect the items at your facility and keep them in a secure location. We pick up the items at a time that is convenient for you. We peruse, value, photograph, list, store, sell, package and ship your donated items to eBay buyers from around the world. Your favorite charity receives up to 50% of the proceeds from every item sold. Proceeds are sent directly to the charity of your choice from the Pay Pal Giving Program, within 21 days of being sold, on behalf of our organization whenever your donated items sell.
It’s very simple and a great way to raise money for your favorite cause, with very little effort on your part.
How Much Can Your Favorite Non Profit Earn?
Here’s how it works and how the dollars add up.
- Level 1 – Donate up to 99 items in sellable* condition, your favorite charity receives 30% of the proceeds
- Level 2 – Donate 100 -199 items in sellable* condition, your favorite charity receives 40% of the proceeds
- Level 3 – Donate over 200 items in sellable* condition, favorite your charity receives 50% of the proceeds
*Sellable condition refers to items we are able to list and potentially sell. Not every item donated will be in sellable condition. Sellable items have no rips, tears, holes, chips, stains, damage, defects, etc. and if applicable are in good working order. We reserve the right to reject any item we feel is not in sellable condition. Non sellable items are discarded and not returned. Levels are calculated based on items we receive in sellable condition. Any item that can fit in a 12 x 12 x 12″ box is accepted, but unfortunately not all may be sellable.
Earn in Perpetuity
The great thing about this initiative is it is ongoing – whenever you receive donations and give them to us, we list and sell them, and your favorite charity receives a portion of the proceeds – whenever they sell. There is no expiration date, no deadline, no limit as to how much they can earn – as long as the items sell, your charity receive an income stream from eBay sales. Hold your donation drive once a month, once a quarter or once a year! As often as you like, for as long as you like. Items remain in our store listed for sale indefinitely, until they are sold.
All that we ask is that donated items be in sellable condition and be small enough to store and ship easily – no large items or furniture accepted. Ideally, every item your employees donate should be small enough to ship in a 12″ x 12″ x 12″ box if possible.
Support As Many Charities as You Like
With this program, you can decide which charities you would like to support. With every pickup, you can choose a different charity or the same charity over and over again. When we list items for sale in our shop, it is at that time that we indicate in the listing the charity that will benefit from your donation, once the item sells. Choose as many charities as you wish to support. Charities must be registered with eBay for Charity to be selected as a beneficiary. - Vintage items
- Used clothing (no stains, rips, tears or holes)
- Used shoes (light wear)
- Used designer handbags (light wear and must be authentic)
- Disney items
- Household items (new and gently used)
- Small appliances (in working order, gently used and new)
- Home decor items (no smells or visible wear)
- Jewelry / Watches
- Pet Supplies (gently used and new)
- Kids / Baby items (new and gently used – no rips, tears, holes or stains)
- Comics (1980’s or earlier)
- Game consoles
- Electronics (new and gently used in working order)
Items we cannot accept: Furniture, Weapons and Explosives, Hazardous Waste, Construction Materials, Flammable Products, Large Appliances, Automobile Parts, Food, Mattresses and Box Springs.

eBay for Charity works with the Pay Pal Giving Fund and has donated over $725 million to charitable organizations over the years. When items are allocated to benefit a charity, the entire process is automated through the Pay Pal Giving Program and 100% of allocated proceeds pass through to your favorite charity without fees, a couple of weeks after items sell in our store.
